Surgery and anaesthesia for exotics and small mammal are more delicate procedures than for carnivores.

There are many factors to take into account to ensure maximum safety when anesthetizing these small animals:

• Protection against hypothermia
• Cardiac and respiratory monitoring
• Gas anesthesia
• Recovery in a heated cage
