Stomach Dilatation-Torsion Syndrome (or SDTS)<\/h1>\n

Au plus vite cette situation est d\u00e9tect\u00e9e, au plus on am\u00e9liore les chances de survie de votre chien : il faut agir tr\u00e8s vite.<\/p>\n

L\u2019estomac se dilate et peut se tordre sur lui-m\u00eame emprisonnant du gaz et du contenu alimentaire. L\u2019estomac en grossissant va comprimer les vaisseaux sanguins. Le passage du sang \u00e9tant r\u00e9duit, il ne sait plus nourrir et approvisionner en oxyg\u00e8ne les diff\u00e9rents organes (estomac, cour,..).<\/p>\n

Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une r\u00e9elle souffrance pour votre animal. C\u2019est une urgence vitale<\/strong>. Sans traitement appropri\u00e9, l\u2019animal d\u00e9c\u00e8de en moins de douze heures..<\/strong><\/p>\n

Un gonflement<\/strong> important de son ventre surtout \u00e0 gauche. Il fera des efforts pour vomir<\/strong>, sans y parvenir.<\/p>\n

Un inconfort marqu\u00e9<\/strong> : votre animal est soit trop calme, soit trop excit\u00e9: il tourne en rond et ne sait plus quelle position prendre.<\/p>\n

Lors de la percussion de son ventre, vous entendrez un bruit de tambour<\/strong>. Il peut pr\u00e9senter des difficult\u00e9s pour respirer, mais ceci est moins fr\u00e9quent.<\/p>\n

The first step is to stabilize your dog’s cardio respiratory system. If possible, we’ll try to decompress his stomach by passing an oro-gastric tube through his mouth. As soon as his condition allows, he should undergo surgery to restore the stomach to its normal position.<\/p>\n

  • Consequences of trauma or abdominal surgery<\/li>\n
  • Spinal cord damage<\/li>\n
